Bandhani

BANDHANI

Why is bandhani restricted only to the clothes when it can be on a lot more products?

BANDHANI-Is a type of tie-dye textile decorated primarily by plucking the cloth.
Bandhani dates back to Indus Valley Civilisation and sold all over India.
Also known as Bandhej, Bandhni, Piliya, and Chungidi

CREATE YOUR OWN BANDHANI

DIY TUTORIAL
HERE COMES AN EASY WAY TO MAKE YOUR OWN BANDHANI.

  • Stitch semi-circles on a folded cotton sheet.
  • Pull all the threads tight and secure them on the cotton sheet[as shown]
  • Repeat from the other side of the sheet, making sure it's firm.
  • Further dye it in indigo or some other easily available dye and unpick the stitches.[while you dye the cotton cloth, remember not to soak it long enough, just dip and take it out, and the water must be hot enough to dye]
  • [optional step] stitch you bandhani cloth into a cushion cover.
ENJOY!
